Golf night with mom :)

All day today the boys begged me and begged me to take them real golfing. They have been to the driving range and putting green a lot but today they wanted the real thing with the cart and everything. I pretended to spend most of the morning thinking about it - just as I promised them. Then I told them I would call the golf course to see if they would even let me drive the cart holding my 1 year old, riding along with my 5 and 7 year olds, who would actually be golfing and not me today. I thought sure they would tell me no! But of course they said sure that would be great! So we headed over there and I noticed that the course was quite busy tonight. So we just did the driving range and putting green again. Of course, I had to promise that next time I would take them "real" golfing.

Max did an awesome job hitting the ball tonight. Sometimes he will hit like 5 balls and then say, I'm done. But tonight he hit his whole bucket all by himself and even stole a couple from Isaac while he wasn't looking.

Taking a tiny rest in the shade for a minute.

Isaac on the other hand is all business and total focus. He is there to hit his whole bucket of balls the best he can. So hilarious! He can hit it 100 yds most of the time. Tonight he even hit a couple 125 yards. I am not sure I can even do that anymore!

Love this picture!

This is what Jake spent his time doing. Honestly, the driving range is not the easiest place to take a 1 year old. He just wants to be like his big brothers but if I let go of him he is sure to get knocked in the head by a club. So he had to sit on my lap. Kinda sad for the little sweetie!

Then I had a genius idea and gave him a candy bar. Problem solved! He had no trouble sitting on my lap after that! We had a lot of fun - I did get some interesting comments from the men at the golf course. Most of them couldn't get over how great it was that I would bring my 3 boys out to the golf course to practice. Some would just give me the eye glare, like what do you think you are doing here. But if I remember correctly this is a public golf course therefore we are welcome to practice any time we want. My boys love it - maybe we should go a couple times a week. So fun!

Hone Family Reunion

We were so lucky to be able to go to the Hone Family Reunion this weekend. We used to get together for Thanksgiving every year when we were all young kids. But as we grew up and everyone got married and moved away and had families we haven't been able to all get together for a lot of years. I was so glad when Stephanie said I think we should have a reunion and then she got right busy planning it and working very hard. I know that so much work went into this and the Jensen girls worked very hard. There are always so many things that go on that the people who just come to the party don't even think about. Like get wood for the fire pit, sharpen the winnie roasting sticks, clean the grill, rent the tables and pick them up and then deliver them again when it is over, gas up the four-wheelers, get pictures together and make DVD's for everyone after you add music to it, move the TV out to the yard, mail out cards for everyone to write their memories on and hope you every get them back, get the name tags, think of decorations, set up and decorate the tables, assign food and go shopping, plant the flowers, mow the grass, wash the windows and clean the house just incase someone needs to use the bathrooms, I know the list goes on and on and on so thank you so much Stephanie and Chris and all of you Jensen's for making the reunion so great for all of us!

The Hone grandkids are always looking for a fun time to play with Uncle Mason, but this day all of the grand kids had a great time getting Uncle Mason wet. Thanks for always being so fun Mason.

Lacie, Jake and Lani

Alie, Lani and Travis

Grandpa Gary, Uncle Wynn and Dad (Kirk)

Max and Jake trying their best to eat all of the desserts before they get caught!

Some of the kids warming up on the patio. Max, Preslie, Taylor, Jensyn, Brody, Colton, and Isaac.

Justin, Aunt Stephanie, Ashlie, Carlie, Chase, Grandma Doris and Brock.

All of this great family was started by Grandma Doris and Grandpa Gary and they had 3 kids. Then their 3 kids had 16 kids between them and so far those 16 grand kids have produced 51 great grandkids. And I don't think it is stopping yet! What a legacy for them to tell! We have always had so much fun together and this reunion was no different.

Grandma Norma's

We had so much fun at Grandma Norma's house this weekend. The kids played and played and then the sprinklers came on and none of them had their swimming suits but that doesn't matter. They just went for it anyways - running through the sprinklers was so fun!

We lines all of them up on the floor in Grandma's basement. Nine kids across I believe. Jake, Isabelle and Brooklyn had to sleep in their own beds. The kids always think it is fun to all sleep together on the floor.

They have the best Grandma Marla who always reads them a couple of stories before bed when they are all together. We were only missing Heather's kids in this picture but I am sure we could have fit three more if they were there.

They are going for a ride on the rhino something they all love to do. They rode all around and went to the fox den and to pet the horses, and walked on the railroad tracks. They got to see a bull fight that turned into a death match in the field. They had a great time out in the fields. It is so fun to get our kids together so they can play and we can have time with our family.

Cousins

The kids were taking turns dressing up and playing together. These are all just random pictures of when Hailey was here. We had so much fun!

While Hailey was here with her kids she brought the reciepe to make home made - hand made - ice cream. You use one sandwish zip loc and one gallon size zip loc. In the small bag you add 1/2 cup milk 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of flavor. They you put you small bag inside you big bag and fill it 3/4 full with ice and then add rock salt. They for probably about 10 minutes you shake it and mix it. Pretty soon you have ice cream. Our hands were freezing - I mean aching freezing.

It was time to eat and Max dug in and got a big bite out of his bag and then looked up at me with the most sour face I have seen. But he said it was good. I took his word for it and moved on - Then i decided to taste it for my self and I had to spit mine in the sink it was so nasty. Two of the kids actually got very good ice cream. The other four were a hair wild while mixing and broke tiny holds in their small zip loc bags and the salt leaked in. So now you know why Max's face was so sour. We will try it again and maybe this time we will have to buy the name brand of zip loc bags! With any luck they are stronger!

Always a project around here! They kids played and played and had so much fun together.
Isaac, Max and Colton were riding their bikes one afternoon and decided to get out the ramp. They all did an awesome job jumping their bikes.

These pictures are serious concentration as they arrive at the jump. I thought it was cute to see how hard they concentrate.

These boys can always find something exciting to do. How fun to play with cousins!

More flowers...

The other day while I was out I thought I would take a few pictures of my flowers. The ones above are Zinnia's. I planted them from seed this year and they look great. I heard that they were easy to grow from seed and they are. The flowers also last a very long time once they blossom.

I also planted these from seed and they are called Rose Mallow's. They look like tiny hibiscus flowers. They are beautiful and they are blossoming everywhere now.

One of the favorites is the beautiful lillies.

The good old standby that will always flower is the Black-eyed Susan's.

We love our hibiscus flowers. Every year they prove to be awesome! We have these red ones and then some light pink with dark pink centers. Just so you can get the size on these things they are as big as my head. We continue to baby our grass and gardens. But beautiful flowers is well worth the work!
