Last week we were in the city baseball tournament. In our little city this is not taken lightly baseball is what our city lives and breathes by. So we headed out with a big idea to win the tournament. If we won all the way through we would only play 3 games in the tournament.
Game #1 - A WIN.
Game #2 - We played neck and neck with the other team all the way through the game. Finally ended up going into overtime. We were last bats in this game. We were down 2 runs and had 2 outs. Isaac gets up to bat and I was seriously sweating bullets... I am sure he was too! There are guys on 1st and 2nd. He gets a great hit and runs both of those guys in and gets on 2nd base. Game tied. The next batter gets up and he gets a hit and Isaac gets home for the winning run! It was awesome!!
Game #3 - Championship game.
It was little league baseball at it's finest. I was so glad that my mom and sister were able to be here for these games. Seriously they wouldn't have understood my excitement if they hadn't seen it with their own eyes. But if you see it with your own eyes then it is an incredible story to tell. If you didn't know Justin is the coach of Isaac's team. It has been quite the year for Isaac and Justin. So onto the championship game... We went back and forth every inning or stayed tied. The other team's fans were ridiculously annoying. They needed quieted down... somehow. Isaac played catch the first 3 innings like always. He plays catch like clock work he is awesome. It is a rare occasion if someone gets past him to score when he is playing catch. He can dig a ball like no 10 year old I have ever seen. (This is my blog so I get bragging rights to all of my kids :)) He heads up to start pitching inning 4. He has good and bad pitches up there like any other normal pitcher. The stress this particular game was really high and he was feeling the pressure. He called time to see if Justin would pull him out and Justin just said, "Isaac it is time to dig deep, you got this." Things were going good for him for inning 4, 5, & 6. We ended up in a tie at the end of inning 6 and went onto the overtime inning. We were one run up and the other team had last bats. Very stressful situation for Isaac on the pitching mound. We were up in the field for their last bats and he headed out to the mound and pitched a strike out first. Awesome! Then he walked 2 guys cuz the pressure was getting to him. He took a few deep breaths and some looks at his dad just outside the dug out. Calmed down. (This is a hard situation to watch your kid be in just ask me I almost crumpled in the pressure I don't know how he pulled through.) The 3rd guy gets a hit and makes it to 1st. Bases loaded. We have 1 out and are still one run up . If two of these guys on base me it in they win the game. Isaac takes more deep breaths and I am sure he was dying out there. He confidently pitched again and the guy hits a very hard line drive to pitch. Isaac dives catches it. Batter out! Then he rolls up on one knee and throws to 2nd and we get that guy out. They the 2nd baseman throws to 1st and we get that guy out. Triple Play! We win the championship game on a triple play!! It was a sight you honestly had to see with your own eyes. The boys jumped and cheered and I was so darn proud of Isaac I just wanted to bawl! I don't think I have seen Justin that excited in years! You should have seen his vertical jump it was incredible! It took a lot of heart for Isaac to stay strong and continue through the intense pressure of this particular game. It was the best little league baseball game I have ever watched. Congratulations to my sons team on their big hearts and awesome championship win!

Justin having a time out pep talk with the boys in the the infield.
Sorry these are a bit blurry but I was still shaking A LOT!
Isaac called me during the batting practice before the game and said, "mom, me and the team talked and we want you to bring a big cooler of gatorade to pour on dad just in case we win." I didn't feel like putting $50 of gatorade in the bucket so water will have to do! They boys were thrilled to dump it on Justin.
This is Isaac and 2 of his good friends. Also the 3 of them who made the triple play together.
Isaac and his good friend Hunter who plays 3rd.
Isaac and Justin. I love these boys.
Isaac and Tag. These 2 switch off playing pitcher and catcher.
I was one proud mom during these games Isaac played incredible! He has the heart of an athlete no doubt about it. He lives and breathes sports everyday.
