The BAD news...
The bad news is that I am going to be out of town for a week now and we are going to be busy playing and taking pictures so at the end of the month stay tuned for all of our fun adventures!
Backyard fun & yard sales...
Isaac, Max, Jake and their friend Dillon play slip-n-slide.
There is something about slip-n-slides that kids always love.
Yes this was a blowout in the slide - - very bad.... thank goodness for duck tape it still works and the fun went on!!
These 2 monkeys wouldn't look at me at all so this picture will have to do - all though in their defense walking on a slip-n-slide is really not that easy.
THE YARD SALE! I haven't really ever been to a yard sale let alone participate in one.... bujtI had some stuff to get rid of so I joined in with my friend Kristin and we put a whole bunch of stuff out in the yard to sell. It was fun and tiring and we did pretty good.
My little helpers.
Kristin and I. We were so darn tired by the time this was over it wasn't even funny! But I think yard sales are much more fun with a friend! Thanks Kristin!

BB Guns & Birds... don't mix!
The boys headed out for a quick bb gun shooting on Saturday afternoon while Lexie napped and they had a ton of fun. They were just target practicing until the birds starting flying. Then 2 poor bird souls just behind their bb's and down they went. Isaac shot a cutie little bird and he wanted to keep it forever (and it is currently in a baggy in my freezer so he has proof of shooting a bird) nice.
Max shot a dove. It really works out best because Isaac wouldn't even consider eating his kill and Max is up for trying anything new. Even if it is the kill of the day :(!!!
Hummmmm.... who had the most fun????
More checking out their birds.
The most hilarious part of the whole thing is when they had to cut up the dove. HILARIOUS! Justin and Max were 2 hands in cleaning and cutting and carrying on and Isaac was there and watching but there wasn't a chance he was going to touch it and Jake was making throwing up sounds in the background and saying, "oh barf that is nasty"! It was classic.

Backyard Fires :)
This is the kids new favorite thing to do in the backyard this summer. A quick marshmallow roast! Isaac was thrilled because he got to start the fire this time.
Yep - there is the site supervisor... Lexie with her pointing finger out!
Max and Jake are just ready to roast!!
Who knew a marshmallow could make you smile that big.
A backyard fire is genius!

4th of July
We had a pretty low key 4th of July this year. We were lazy all morning and then after naps we went to the Freedom Festival. Lexie was super happy she got to sit in the back of the stroller.
At the freedom festival there is a free children't art yard. We always love it--- and there is free face painting - I saw a lot of great face painting on kids around the festival so I thought this year we were in for a great flag on the cheek. Well I guess you can say that free is free and sometimes you just have to be happy with what you get....Apparently all those other kids went to the professional face painting booth! But really they all wash off with dinner anyways. So it was fun!
Yes, we let baby Lexie get one as well.
After the festival we went to the park for a pizza picnic and a quick fishing trip.
The kids love to go fishing as long as the fish are biting! They are not so patient just waiting.... they must have gotten that from me because Justin could sit there for hours waiting for a fish to bite.
Since the fish weren't biting we all needed something to keep us busy... lucky for me I always have the camera so I just took a few cute pictures of the kids with their dad. They were hanging on his back anyways so I just went to snapping.
We bought a few little fireworks to light off and right when it was getting dark it started to pour rain and the kids were sad. After about 30 minutes it was all clear again so we headed out to light some things. Unforunately Lexie didn't make it the extra 30 minutes she was tired. We headed out and lighted some stuff and then we just watched the show in the neighborhood - apparently we hve some fireworks lovers because we had more aerial fireworks in our neighborhood than I could believe! It was a real 4th of July show right off my front step. We had a great 4th of July!
