Furniss Family Reunion :)

Last weekend we went to Blackfoot, Idaho for the Furniss Family Reunion.  I love reunions!  We had an awesome time all together!  First event on the list was a super fun bus ride around the area to learn more about Grandma Norma and Grandpa Ralph's life.  Here are the crazies on the bus!

 The rang the town bell/

We saw this little house that a relative of our lived in!

Katie is my cutie cousin!  I had a favorite cousin on each side of the family my age and I consider them both as good as sisters!  I consider myself the lucky one!    So her sister Lyndsay was supposed to wear this apron but she found herself to pregnant to roam around on a moving bus so the job got switched to me :)
 Lani and Travis :)
Grandma Norma telling us some things about places we were at.
My mom and her mom.  I come from some pretty awesome genes!
Lyndsay (the other tour guide..)  and her family.  She is 36 weeks pregnant here but apparently the reunion including the bus ride.... wagon ride... and 2 airplane rides put her over the edge cuz that cute baby got here the day after the reunion.  She was an early little baby and came teeny tiny but perfectly healthy!

Justin and I.
Enjoying the potato cellars reminising about our days working in the potato harvests!

My mom and Nolan :)  Mom was telling us about how hard grandma Norma used to work.  During potato harvest she would get up long before the sun up and made hot breakfast for grandpa and the kids and then packed lunch bags for everyone.  She would then go out to the potato fields and cellars and work all day long.  She was the head person in the cellar and she stacked the potatoes up just perfectly so that when Grandpa came in at the end of the day he would just be able to see them perfectly stacked.  Mom said you could always see a lot of pride in grandpa and grandma about how hard they worked and how nice things looked at the end of the day.  She said grandpa was always proud of grandma and it was neat for her to see that.  After stacking potatoes all day the family would go home and grandma would run a bath and while the kids were in it and grandpa was getting cleaned up or relaxing she would cook a hot dinner for everyone.  They clean it up and put all the kids and grandpa :) to bed.  Then she would bath herself and do a few things and go to bed long after everyone else.  Then start long before everyone else the next day.  She is a tough grandma and I am proud to call her mine.
After the potato cellars and farm we went on a fun wagon ride!

Then we looked through a lot of old stuff and saw how they used to farm :)

Possible my favorite picture of the weekend!  I love Hailey!
Jake showing me how he would get the bad guys on the trail!
Then we headed to the cemetary to Grandpa's grave and Uncle Rudell (my mom's younger brother)  There are also many other Furniss family members buried there.  This is Nolan telling us a few things at the graves.

A handful of places got cut off the bus tour as some of our kiddos were hungry and had to go potty!  It was an awesome ride though!
The whole group that came that day!  A great bunch of family!

The only thing different about this picture is that I joined by Justin on the front row.

Two of my cute sisters and I!
We ate a yummy lunch and then started in on some fun games!  Good old fashioned 3 legged races and potato sack races and Red Rover!  It was fun to watch kids play these games for the first time!  Lexie and Arleigh were saying, "inside leg outside leg"  all the way down! So cute!

No words necessary!  Just cousins having fun, making memories and being kids!  My favorite!
Then it was the grown up races....

Red Rover was the most successful 1 hour or longer game we have ever played of that game!

What some of the adults did during red rover...  A nap in the shade... I do believe that was actually on the schedule!
To end our already super fantastic day we had our own personal concert!  It was a fellow that went to school with Justin and his wife!  And they were AMAZING singers... no really AMAZING!  Every song they sang I thought... wow that was better than the professional original singer who sang it!!

Then they had any girls who wanted to come up and sing Frozen - - Let IT Go with her!  She was amazing and these cute girlies rocked it!!  It was a fantastic and perfect kind of day to spend with family!  Thanks Nolan for some awesome memories!
