Isaac.

We got lucky and my parents came to visit us a couple of weekends ago.  They got to go to 2 basketball games (one of them ended in a crazy fight.... long story) one baseball practice, one birthday lunch, one birthday dinner, and my older boys both got to enjoy a bit of one on one time with them.  They love that!  My parents spoiled them and us rotten and we were so grateful they were here.  They also got to be here for Isaac's priesthood ordination.  It just worked out it was the weekend they were already planning on coming.  Good timing.

Jake enjoying a photo bomb session..

It was a crazy picture day and I just took what was available.  I was so thankful my parents got to spend the weekend with us.  I am so proud of Isaac for the awesome kid he is and for the good example he is to me and my kids.  He is one awesome brother and son.  I am proud that he is making good choices and turning into an excellent young man.  I couldn't love him more.

Isaac Birthday - 12 years old.

Can you even believe that I have a 12 year old now!!  I cannot.... at all!  Isaac got to go skiing for part of his birthday as well so that was awesome.  On his actual birthday we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then he had school...  After school he wanted to go shooting with his friends and did... about an hour after they left he called me and was sicker than a dog.  I quickly picked him up and he was being so tough until after he told his friends bye and look away to look at me and then he just started sobbing.  It was good for me to know that no matter how old he gets he will still need his mom.  I took him home and tried to help him and get him comfortable.  He was seriously so so sick!  He couldn't eat his birthday dinner or do any birthday festivities because he was dying sick.  He missed school the next day and literally stayed in bed sick all day long!  Poor kid!  Nobody wants to spend their birthday sick!  He got a couple of under armor shirts, new shoes, cash and a new team baseball bag for his birthday.  We did finally eat his birthday cake quite a few days later.  He wanted a Coldstone birthday cake.  Side note:  Max wanted no birthday cake this year we just went to Coldstone to eat ice cream for his birthday cake.  Perfect on both accounts boys!

12 years old!! Seriously can't believe it!  I love this boy so so much.

Max's birthday - 10 years old

Max couldn't have been more happy about his birthday this year.  It landed right on President's Day so he didn't have school for starters, secondly, he went skiing to Brighton on his birthday.  Really it could have ended there and he would have been happy boy!
I made him cinnamon rolls and put candles in it for breakfast before they headed off skiing.
I CANNOT believe that little Max is now 10 years old!!!  Where has the time gone!?

I ordered this for Max so it didn't show up right on his birthday like planned.  However it was here a couple of days later and then it was like a birthday all over again!  He got this new awesome blue jacket and this more than awesome mountain bike that he has been dying to have for awhile now!

I love this boy so so much.

Crown Day.

A couple of weeks ago at preschool we made crowns.  The kids looked so cute in them I had to snap a couple of pictures.  I just love love love my little princess. (She is in the middle - and these are her 2 best friends- these 3 just love each other.)

Yes it was warm after school, yes I let her wear her crown all day, yes I let her play in the road with bare feet because it was a wonderful warm day and yes she is covered in chalk but she was having a fantastic afternoon!

OH man I love my little girlie.  She is so so so much fun!

Basketball.

I regret to inform you that I have no pictures of basketball season for either of the boys.  I hate pictures from the gym.  I know that is no excuse but just for your information they played awesome.  They both did so good and I don't know if I could have held a camera anyways as I was always cheering and clapping.  They both scored every game between 4 points and 22 points.  Isaac's high game was a score of 22 points for him.  Max's high game was 12 points for him.  Both were awesome and I was one VERY proud mom!  Every game they put on their game face and gave it all they had.  I loved watching basketball season this year - every single minute of both of their games was amazing for me.  They are growing so fast and they make me so proud when they play sports and when they don't.  They are pretty amazing kids.

Remembering..

So one day in February I took the kids down to main street.  One of the police officers from Spanish Fork was killed in a high speed chase / shoot out.  It was so very sad.  His kids went to our kids schools and his poor wife and family.. honestly I have no words.  The city went all out for his funeral and when the prescession came down main street they closed it for 3 hours.  I thought that might be a little long but alas I was wrong.  This precession for him was 2 1/2 hours long.  Every police car in the state was there I think.  The encouraged people to come and line the streets with flags to show respect and appreciation to him and his family.  There wasn't an empty spot all the way down main street and all the way up to the city cemetary.  It was a really fantastic reminder of how important families are and it was important for me to take a moment to teach my kids respect for those people who are always fighting for our safety.

The next limo was the family and I will never forget the look of the tears streaming down one of the sons faces as it went by.  My heart broke and my tears fell.  At the end of the day we all showed our love and respect but this poor boy lost his dad.  My heart just sunk since he was probably around Isaac's age.

What a neat experience for me and the kids.

Jake skiing 2-17-14

I am so sorry that this little video is sideways.  I am not sure why I can't get it turned around so tilt your head sideways and you can see it.  It is Jake on his good behavior skiing so Justin can record him for me.  I can't believe that this is his second year on the hills!

Skiing Brighton on February 17, 2014.

I am sure that you thought I forgot how to blog... or maybe that I even quit...  neither of these options are true, however I feel like I can hardly get my head above water right now.  I am trying so don't give up on me!!!
They boys went skiing to Brighton on President's Day.  They had a super fantastic day!  These boys love to ski!

Isaac and Max are both pretty awesome skiiers from what I hear..  Jake is awesome as well and Justin'can hardly keep up with him... he is fearless.......  Anyone surprised??
